Must ask her if she’s still interested in these kind of stories. Hello, fellow readers! PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER Adrian McKinty Helpful. To see what your friends thought of this book, 3.5 stars. | This medical thriller was an easy read. What makes The Silent Patient such a tacky slog is the consistently lazy, cliche-ridden, dumbed down prose. Though she doesn't work directly for Snoop anymore, Liz is included in the leadership retreat: It's her and eight other board members at a lush, remote French ski chalet for a little powder, a little pampering, and a little back-channel business. | Or perhaps not. Really liked this one by Michael Palmer. I read this book while sick and almost shit myself every time I got a migraine. He had gone to see a surgeon in Iowa. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. We’re glad you found a book that interests you! Books about current or former ‘institutions’ featuring some of horrific practices of the past and those remaining today (well, at least in the more sordid settings popping up in crime fiction and thrillers). Terrorists, brain tumours, crazy people, determined doctors, spunky heroine... what else could I ask for? The Patient by Steena Holmes was exactly that! Who cares about a mystery when you have to trudge through page after page of sophomoric prose? Now, with a string of murders in town putting her on edge, Danielle’s own worries come close to eclipsing her patients’. Inspired by the “exchange kidnappings” that take place in Mexico and the old-school chain letters of his childhood, crime novelist McKinty (Police at the Station and They Don’t Look Friendly, 2017, etc.) Just two French Canadians that are book obsessed! I’m not sure if it was a wise move to read this one before bed, it is a nightmarish style read! Categories: ‧ | 1,443 people found this helpful . Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2019. The Patient by Jasper DeWitt will be published in Australia by Harper Collins and now available. For every child kidnapped, another must be taken. Interesting listening to one of Palmer's books rather than reading it. Details on how to purchase the book can be found here. I wish I could give this book more that five stars. This was worlds better than the last Michael Palmer book I read. Still, Parker plunges in, inspired by youthful determination and a commitment to his profession. PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER, by A first person style of narration helps the The Patient move in a swift and compelling manner. Verified Purchase. | SUPERNATURAL THRILLER SUSPENSE Love your review! I write about books and life in general. Heart-poundingly scary and immensely entertaining, The Patient is riveting, unpredictable, page-turning suspense. The Patient by Steena Holmes was exactly that! I am a sucker for medical thrillers, and this satisfied my expectations in that it had elements I liked - a busy hospital, sick patients and doctors always in a game of chess with King Death. PARANORMAL FICTION It deserves it! I was going crazy trying to figure everything out! DeWitt gives us a fair bit of context here, particularly in relation to the hospital’s (past and present) staff.
